I changed a user mailbox to shared because multiple users in the company use this email. I converted the mailbox to shared on Friday. This morning when I tried to add the shared mailbox to a user's account in Outlook 2016, it would not work. We bought our licenses through Century Link so they remoted in and couldn't figure out why it didn't work either.

I went the normal route of going through Outlook and adding a new account, it would not connect. Then I closed outlook and went through Mail in the control panel (Windows 7) and added an account that way, same issue. I also tried to add a new profile instead of account and that failed also. As soon as I converted the shared mailbox back to a user I was able to add it into the user's account in Outlook 2016. Why was I not able to add it as a shared mailbox?
